Intake Questions for New Families

Broaching a scout’s needs with parents and guardians need not be tricky or awkward. Questions you might ask:

  • Does your child have any allergies?
  • Does your child take any prescribed medications or has your child been prescribed medications in the past year?
  • Does your child receive extra support at school?
  • What are your child’s abilities and preferences?

The BSA “ABC form” is also an excellent conversation-starter; it’s best practice to collect and annually review them for every scout.
