Broaching a scout’s needs with parents and guardians need not be tricky or awkward. Questions you might ask:
- Does your child have any allergies?
- Does your child take any prescribed medications or has your child been prescribed medications in the past year?
- Does your child receive extra support at school?
- What are your child’s abilities and preferences?
The BSA “ABC form” is also an excellent conversation-starter; it’s best practice to collect and annually review them for every scout.
