Membership Recruitment Opportunity for June 9th at Bike Sunday

We’ve created a scout recruitment opportunity by piggybacking on Westchester County’s “Bike Sunday” to raise awareness of Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. Bike Sunday operates from 10am to 2pm (weather permitting) from Scarsdale Rd. in Yonkers to the County Center in White Plains.

We are planning for this Sunday, June 9th . We will schedule future weekends to help support recruitment.

We invite all Pack and Troops to participate in one or both ways:

  1. Unit Recruitment Activity: Adult leaders or parents to volunteer for 2-hours (10am to Noon | Noon to 2pm) at one of five pre-selected northbound/southbound exits to advertise scouting and hand out water bottles. Click this LINK on Signup Genius to choose the time and location.

If you use this as a scout recruitment effort:

· Update your unit pin on www.BeAScout.org (this is done by a “Key 3” leader)

· Wear your leader uniform or Pack/Troop t-shirt.

· Bring a “Join Cub Scouts” or “Join Scouts BSA” yard sign that says “FREE WATER” (we have some available to loan you)

· Bring a wagon and small water bottles.

· If you need assistance, I can create a custom sticker that you can put on the water bottles. Types of info to include: Name of unit, where it meets, URL for unit website or QR code, an Pack/Troop email address. If you don’t need assistance, feel free to create your own sticker.

  1. Pack/Troop Scout Activity: Offer Bike Sunday an outdoor activity for your unit. Idea is to have happy scouts pedaling up and down the Parkway, wearing their Pack and Troop t-shirt. All units are welcome to join Pack 6 Crestwood at 10am at the Crestwood Train Station for an opening ceremony, brief bike safety announcements, and then begin bike riding.
